What Furniture Trends Moved in 2025
“The right person hasn’t come along”.
“It’s slow season”.
“It was priced wrong”.
Of the many rational reasons a piece of furniture is super slow to sell, the excuses those are the ones I use most often. The REAL reason a piece sits and sits in my booth is that it is outdated. What??!!! No way! Yes, it’s possible I’m hard headed and keep doing the same thing over and over again until finally it dawns on me it’s not working. I discovered this year that I am stuck in 2020 and the last to see trends have changed.
What’s Out
-Transfers, (they were too expensive anyway)
-High contrast color combinations,
-Paint in general, (this makes me sad)
-Desks, (nope not selling another one)
-Pastels like lavender and teal
-Hepplewhite hardware
This piece took 4 months to sell and finally for $100. I knew smokey lavender was out when I painted it and I painted it anyway. I really thought it was a cool piece but I think that about a lot of makeovers I do.

What’s In

-Ring and unique hardware,
-More wood less and no paint,
-Neutral solids,
-Dark blues and earthy greens
This 70’s Spanish Revival update sold within a few days for $260. The tear drop hardware is original but the mid drawer handles were found on Ebay. They are unique and a perfect soft juxtaposition to the square detail.
